WASHINGTON — The new documentary series DRIVEN highlights the committed individuals in the trucking industry who ensure the country keeps moving during both prosperous and challenging times, along with the millions of others who contribute to America’s logistics. Driving trucks on the open highways has traditionally represented freedom, opportunity, and determination. According to the American Trucking Associations (ATA), DRIVEN emphasizes its lasting impact. “Trucking possesses a unique storytelling capability that is unparalleled by most other industries,” stated Jeremy Kirkpatrick, the ATA’s vice president of public affairs and strategic communications. “This sector impacts individuals in every neighborhood and area of our nation — spanning from the North Slope of Alaska, to the gentle hills of New England, to the avenues of South Dallas.” It is essential to share these narratives – not just to honor the talent, strength, and humanity of the remarkable professionals managing the country’s supply chains, but also to guarantee that the trucking industry remains involved in discussions with government officials regarding decisions that impact our sector and the overall economy. DRIVEN was created by the ATA in collaboration with ACT 1 and the Texas Trucking Association Foundation, as a component of its Nothing Without Trucking initiative. NWT informs both policymakers and the general public about the essential function that trucking serves in the lives of Americans. Starting with professional truck drivers, the series aims to showcase the diverse range of roles within the trucking industry that collectively create a resilient connection in the U.S. supply chain. “DRIVEN provides a unique and impactful perspective on our industry—and our country—through the viewpoints of the professionals who ensure it keeps running,” stated Nikki Thomas, vice president of industry affairs at ATA.
