A man suffered several fractures after being ejected from a bucket truck by a passing tractor-trailer. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, June 23rd, in Gardner, Massachusetts. As reported by WCVB, an electrical inspector was working in a bucket lift to fix a light at an intersection on Temple Street when the bucket truck was collided with by a semi-truck as it passed. The impact’s force shattered the worker’s harness, leading to his plunge from the bucket truck. The injured individual, Darrell Sweeney, suffered several broken bones from the fall, but he is anticipated to recover from the incident. The truck driver stayed at the location. It remains uncertain whether any charges will be brought against them. “I wish to convey my heartfelt thanks to the first responders who promptly came and offered essential support at the location, along with the hospital personnel who are tirelessly attending to Darrell with exceptional expertise and empathy. The Mayor’s office stated, “Their efforts had a significant impact in a critical situation.” The original article titled “Worker suffers broken bones after being struck by a passing semi truck while in a bucket truck” was featured on CDLLife.
