The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) found multiple tire and wheel violations on a vehicle that reportedly bypassed a scale facility.
According to THP, a vehicle bypassed the Giles County scale complex and was stopped by a Motor Carrier Plus Trooper for a Level II inspection.
The inspection uncovered a “serious tire and wheel safety issue.”
The trooper discovered that “the left side of the trailer was completely missing its tire and wheel, while the right side had a blown-out tire.”
The vehicle was ordered out-of-service for the tire and wheel issued until repairs are completed.
“This is a powerful reminder that proper vehicle inspections and maintenance are critical, not only for compliance, but for the safety of everyone sharing the road,” THP said.
