A drunk motorist was hospitalized earlier this month after trying to thread the needle between two semi trucks on an Oregon highway.

The incident happened at 1:42 a.m. on Friday, August 7th on Interstate 84 westbound near mile post 276 west of Union, Oregon.

According to ElkHorn Media, police were called to the scene after 29-year-old motorist Andrew Reobert Menges attempted to split lanes between two tractor trailers on a two lane section of I-84. Menges struck both of the semi trucks during his attempt at threading the needle, sending the car skidding before it came to a stop in the median. Both semi trucks were damaged in the incident and pulled over onto the right shoulder.

Menges was transported to a hospital, where he was treated and later released. Police took him into custody a short time later on charges of DUII, Reckless Driving, and three counts of Recklessly Endangering Another.

Both truck drivers and one co-driver were uninjured in the accident. All vehicles were eventually towed from the scene. No further information has been released.
