A motorist who collided with a semi truck was arrested for drunk driving, according to Indiana State Police (ISP).
Early in the afternoon on Saturday, July 25, multiple callers reached out to ISP to report a black Ford Fusion driving erratically while westbound on the Indiana Toll Road near mile marker 85.
ISP’s Trooper Henson headed to the scene to respond but was quickly diverted to a crash between a passenger vehicle and a semi truck on the westbound Toll Road at mile marker 79.
“When he arrived, you guessed it, this was the same black car. He discovered that the driver, a 32-year-old female from South Bend was allegedly drunk,” ISP said.
After receiving medical treatment as well as an impairment test at a hospital, the motorist was booked into St. Joseph County Jail for Operating While Intoxicated-Endangerment.
“Please, do your part to keep our roads safe. Drive sober,” troopers said.
