
Nearly 500 commercial vehicles were inspected during a recent enforcement detail targeting commercial vehicles hauling hazardous materials through Illinois.
From June 30 through July 1, the Illinois State Police (ISP) Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Bureau conducted a hazmat-focused detail on I-55, I-70, and the surrounding areas.
ISP said that the purpose of the operation was to “aggressively enforce Illinois laws and Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations relating to the safe transportation of hazardous materials.”
