The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) took part in a commercial vehicle enforcement detail focusing on motorcoach compliance.
FMCSA sent inspectors from Texas and New Mexico to take part in “Operation Safe Passage” in El Paso, Texas.

As part of the detail, motorcoaches were inspected for compliance with:
- Driver qualifications
- Hours-of-service regulations
- English language proficiency
- Vehicle safety
- Fraudulent documentation

FMCSA reported that a total of 46 commercial vehicle inspections were conducted as part of Operation Safe Passage, and 21 of the inspected carriers were placed out-of-service (OOS), a 45.6% OOS rate.
