The New York State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT) shared dash cam video of a crash that occurred in a work zone this week as a reminder to drivers to pay attention and heed signs.
Officials say that the video was captured earlier this week on I-81 in Jefferson County, New York. .
“The cause? Drivers ignored the “Mowing Ahead” signs, didn’t slow down, and weren’t paying attention. One vehicle merged suddenly and clipped another, sending it spinning directly into a roadside mower. Miraculously, no one was injured. But that outcome could’ve easily been tragic,” said NYS DOT.
Authorities are asking drivers to slow down, stay alert, and respect work zones.
