Dozens of Pennsylvania law enforcement agencies are partnering for a multiple week driver enforcement effort taking place in the southeastern part of the state now through mid-August.

A traffic enforcement effort is taking place in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties from July 7 through August 17, 2025, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).

Officials say that the weeks-long “enforcement wave” will “target heavy truck violations, pedestrian safety, red light running, speeding, and tailgating” as well as driving too fast for conditions and other aggressive driving behaviors.

Police plan to use traffic enforcement zones, saturation patrols, speed enforcement details, corridor enforcement, work zone enforcement, and multi-jurisdictional patrols to identify and cite violators.

The purpose of the enforcement wave is to curb injuries and fatalities caused by crashes. PennDOT says that there were 1,608 aggressive driving crashes, resulting in 43 fatalities and 99 suspected serious injuries in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties in 2024.
