This week, a Nebraska supply chain company announced it will exit the trucking sector in order to focus on freight brokerage, warehousing, and auto sales.

On July 1, 2025, company leaders with Sidney-headquartered Adams Industries, Inc. announced “the difficult decision to exit the trucking sector.”

Adams Industries was founded in 1987 by Robert Adams and his son, Donald Adams. The company is made up of sister companies Adams Trucking, Inc., Adams Warehousing, LLC., and Adams Logistics, LLC. The company traces its roots back to Bob’s Water Service, which hauled water to drilling rigs throughout Nebraska and Colorado in the 1960s and to Don’s Trucking, established in 1984.

“Trucking has been a foundational part of our company for more than 60 years, shaping not only our operations but our identity,” the company said.

After shuttering the trucking division, the company will renew focus on “areas where we see the strongest potential for sustainable growth and long-term success,” including:

  • Non-asset-based freight brokerage through our logistics offices in Sidney, Nebraska, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and Denver, Colorado
  • Warehouse solutions, storage, rail, and transloading at both our corporate terminal and St. John, KS facility
  • Auto and equipment sales and services

“This transition is deeply emotional—especially for those who have dedicated themselves to our trucking division over the decades. We extend our sincere gratitude to every driver, dispatcher, and support team member who has been part of this important chapter. Your hard work, loyalty, and unwavering commitment have left a lasting legacy, and we will always carry that with pride,” Adams Industries said.
