The truck driver who died after his rig plunged off the side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge has been identified as a man from North Carolina.
The semi truck went off the side of Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Virginia on Sunday, February 15th at around 6:40 a.m.
According to WCTI12, the crash split open the trailer, spilling a load of chicken, and claimed the life of 61-year-old Ronnie Andrews from Robersonville, North Carolina. The coast guard spent several hours searching for the truck driver in the water before he was found and identified.

Andrew’s wife, Lovie, has since described her husband as a wonderful man who loved life, family, and friends. He is described as always willing to help, kind, and compassionate.
Officials have ruled out weather as a factor in the crash, but the cause has not yet been determined.
