The coast guard is searching for a truck driver after a tractor trailer went off the side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Virginia on Sunday morning.
The accident happened on February 15th, at around 6:30 a.m. near the North Channel Bridge on the southbound span south of Fisherman’s Island.
According to WTKR, the tractor trailer went through the guardrail and off the west side of the bridge. The tractor trailer has a Perdue Farms logo on the trailer. The truck driver is still missing, and the coast guard is conducting a search of the area.

Crews closed lanes of the bridge to repair the guardrail damage. As of 9:22 a.m., the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel reported that all lanes of the bridge were reopened. No information on the identity of the driver or his condition has been released.
The last time a tractor trailer went off the Chesapeake Bay Bridge was in June of 2023, when 36-year-old truck driver Christopher A. Scott hit a curb, blew a tire, and veered off the side of the bridge. Scott did not survive the accident.
