The California Highway Patrol (CHP) shared results from an enforcement operation focusing on commercial trucks traveling on I-10.
CHP says that the truck traffic detail took place during the month of January on I-10 between the San Gorgonio Pass and the Coachella Valley.
“Commercial trucks and drivers are a backbone to the California and National economy. The majority of commercial drivers are well-trained, courteous, and take their job seriously. However, when a commercial vehicle is operated unsafely, the consequences can be devastating,” CHP’s San Gorgonio Pass Division said.
See below for key results from the I-10 operation:
- Vehicle Inspections: 42
- Vehicles placed out-of-service: 4
- Drivers placed out-of-service: 8
- Speeding violations: 75
- Out of lane violations: 76
- Total number of violations cited: 277
- Total number of citations issued: 205
Participating CHP Divisions include the San Gorgonio Pass Area, the Indio Area, Desert Hills CVEF, and Border Division Commercial units.
