The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) recently took part in a commercial vehicle enforcement and inspection campaign that yielded dozens of out-of-service orders.
KHP said on October 7 that a three day commercial vehicle inspection operation took place over the weekend in southwestern Kansas with assistance from Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) personnel.
Officers conducted more than 300 commercial vehicle inspections.
The inspections resulted in 6% of drivers and 14% of vehicles being placed out-of-service.
In addition to the truck inspections, KHP also conducted saturation patrols to remove impaired drivers from the roadways in Seward, Finney, and Ford counties.
